After lining up several contractors for quotes on developing our basement, Pukka Renovations was the most impressive from the start. Spencer was not only extremely professional it was also very clear that he understood his business. He provided his quote within the timeframe he said he would and it left no room for misinterpretation. He clearly broke down the costs and gave an itemized list to ensure we knew what we were to provide and all costs ahead of time. There were very few things that we had to source ourselves and Spencer gave clear direction on supplier recommendations and the timeframes we would need to have those things completed by to remain on schedule.

The suppliers he referred us to were all top notch and when they heard we were working with Pukka Renovation they also sang their praises. Spencer's referrals not only saved us money they were also a pleasure to work with. We were also told by a town inspector that that sub trades Spencer used were rated very highly and no issues were found in any of our inspections. We could trust that both Spencer and Vikki would look after everything they said they would and feel they went above and beyond what we were expecting. The transition from our main floor to the basement is seamless - we have the same style of doors, doorknobs, trim, ceiling and even rounded corners to match the rest of our house. All of the sourcing to do the matching was completed by Spencer and Vikki and made things so easy on us.

At the time of the quote, we mentioned that we were expecting and would want the job completed by the baby's birth. Spencer was very honest and said he didn't know if he could meet our deadline. We were so impressed that he was willingly to sacrifice getting the job by not trying to over deliver that we went with Pukka in spite of possibly having a house under construction with a toddler and newborn. We were blown away by Spencer and Vikki's scheduling, not only did they meet our deadline they exceeded it and finished the renovation a month before the baby's due date! They had found some time prior to when they was supposed to start our project to fit in a few initial tasks, and that gave them a head start on the rest of the renovation. There was never a time or doubt in our minds that Spencer and Vikki wouldn't show up when they said they would and they always took the time to tidy the space before leaving at the end of each day.

We were incredibly impressed with Pukka Renovations – they didn't over promise on anything, they stuck to the quote they provided us, they gave a clear payment schedule, the work they did exceeded our expectations and we now have a beautiful space for our growing family to use for years and years to come. If we ever need any more work done on our house in the future, our first and only call would be to Spencer and Vikki! We contracted Pukka Renovations (Spencer) to finish our basement in our home in Okotoks and we couldn't be happier with the results. Our basement was completely undeveloped prior to the renovation. Linda and I wanted to write this short note to thank you for the recent renovation to our basement.

The flood of 2013 left our finished basement area totally devastated as it did with many others in High River and Southern Alberta. The shortage of qualified contractors and the abundance of those not so qualified, added to an already stressful time. Almost ready to give up, we were given a couple of names of local contractors from the Home Depot Contractor department. Yours was the first name on the list and after speaking with you we were confident we had found "our man". So much so, that we didn't even call the second name on the list. As it turns out, we now know that we made the right decision and are very pleased the process from contract signing to finish. After not being sold on other contractors that had been recommended to us, we decided to look elsewhere. We came across Pukka Renovations and decided to get a quote. From the time we first met Spencer, we felt that he would be easy to work with to complete our basement and the quote seemed reasonable. Our gut instinct was right. Throughout the renovation, Spencer consistently communicated what work would be completed in the following few days. If we had any questions, Spencer was extremely quick to return texts or calls. He made sure we were pleased with every step of the process as each was completed. Lastly, we felt very comfortable with the payment schedule, From the start, we knew what payments would be due after each step of the process and there were no surprises when we were finished.

Spencer worked on two projects for us. He enclosed a hole above our fireplace with drywall and he designed and built a set of built-ins in our mudroom with hooks, shelves for storage and sections for each member of our family. Although these seemed like small jobs, as opposed to a kitchen reno or basement development, Spencer approached them like a professional. After listening to what we wanted and making some suggestions of his own, he presented us with a drawing and different samples of stains for the project.
